Commitment to Research

Bayfield's contribution to the advancement of knowledge and knowledge transfer in the youth mental health service industry and the development of information technology to collect data has been significant. Bayfield has led the way and shared its resources with a multitude of individuals and organizations. As a result, many service providers have benefited from our lead on topics such as attachment, academic achievement, evidence-based practice and treatment, outcome evaluation and accreditation. Bayfield's R&D has drawn from the Bayfield Information System (BIS) to produce findings in youth treatment and these have been shared provincially, nationally, and internationally. Our research has been presented in South Africa, Scandinavia, Canada and United States of America. Some of these projects include:
  • Sanders, L. Attachment of Adolescent Males in a Residential Treatment Setting, UMI Publication, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 2003.
  • Sanders, L. & Jamieson, J. Predictors of Academic Achievement for At Risk Adolescent Males in a Residential Treatment Centre, 2004.
